Complexity, Constraint Theory, Technical Debt
@yamaz: As a company becomes more successful, engineers are inevitably faced with more complex systems to deal with. "I can't go as fast as before."
"Are you just slacking off?"
Such conversations arise, so I created this material to help people understand that this is a structural problem that can be addressed.
@cwmasaki: I really think this is true. Efforts to reduce complexity (refactoring, rearchitecting) are essential, but as the scale of the company grows, engineer hiring also needs to accelerate "exponentially". With a sense of satisfaction that you can deliver with only 5-10 engineers from seed/early stage, things break apart when you reach series A. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FnNpNP2acAABmzi.jpghttps://pbs.twimg.com/media/FnNrJGsaEAEhqR_.jpg
